Copenhagen. A city of indulgent food, vibrant bustling streets, urban art, enchanting gardens and of course bikes! Yes, the hype is true. Cycling is the only way to explore Copenhagen and believe it or not it’s easier than you might think.
Bikes can be hired from pretty much anywhere and most hostels or hotels have their own cycle hire stations, or at the very least know where you can get a bargain. Helmets do not appear to be something many Copenhageners utilise, but if you are new to the two wheeled mode of travel, they too can be hired for a small fee.
My experience of cycling the city was one of surprising calm. With dedicated cycle lanes, each about 2m wide, there is plenty of room for you to take your time and take in the views, while the Copenhageners whiz past on their daily exploits. There is also…
